THE DECLARATION STATEMENT of 200 YOUTH TO SPLA-IO KITGWANG AND SUPPORT FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF THE REVITALIZED PEACE AGREEMENT IN THE NASCENT REPUBLIC OF SOUTH SUDAN.,
Nairobi, Kenya.
Nov 22, 2021 — We are hereby informing the public particularly the south Sudanese, who are residing in Diaspora or within South Sudan that the youth in Nairobi, who have been hopefully and closely monitor the implementation of the revitalized peace agreement in the nascent Republic of South Sudan, since 2018, have been embittered by the sluggishness of the implementation of the revitalized peace agreement compelled us to switch from SPLM-IO of Dr.Riek in search for genuine peace in our young nation. Furthermore, the silence surrender of the former chairman of SPLM-IO Dr.Riek Machar to government without considering those who had been massacred, root cause of the conflict, and the rest of SPLA -IO forces, which he had left in the bushes, demoralized us as youth in Nairobi to switch off our allegiance from the initial SPLA-IO to SPLA-IO Kitgwang and we are hereby officially declaring our allegiance on 23th of November 2021 to the SPLA-IO Kitgwang chairman, 1st Lt General Simon Gatwech Dual and General Johnson Olony for their consistency with the mission and vision of the second liberation despites the challenges that they had been left in by Dr. Riek Machar .
Moreover, the other reason that triggered our move as youth to join the SPLA-IO Kitgwang is not other than the full implementation of the revitalized peace agreement which the two generals have been advocating for since the signing of the peace deal in 2018, in Khartoum .peace should be achieved when the agreement is implemented in letter and spirit but not by partial implementation of deal. Â We are going to stand with the movement until the country achieves long lasting peace .We are not ready to accommodate the oppression and privatization of the nation by the few ruling elites.Â
The ongoing procrastination of the implementation of the revitalized peace agreement by the bourgeosifying ruling elites, who keep on erecting many obstacles on the way of achieving peace in our young nation is our great concern that need to be tackle to restore the stability in our nation
The process of implementation of the peace agreement was supposed to commence by implementation of security arrangement (chapter 2 of 2018 agreement) but unfortunately the ruling elites squandered the opportunity and the Spoilers still seeking other avenues of abrogating the implementation of the revitalized peace agreement, as they did in 2016, it is unacceptable and it is a clear violation of the agreement that is supposed to be questioned by the IGAD. The more we delay the implementation of the security arrangement, the longer the suffering of our population. The delaying tactics of implementation of revitalized peace agreement by the oppressors is an intentional strategy of status quo to win and prolong the suffering of our civil population; many of our civil population are languishing in poverty within the country and across the region in refugee camps. The situation that our civil population is experiencing is supposed to worry our leaders to expedite the implementation of the resuscitated peace agreement in order to fix the economics and restore the tainted image of the young nation.
Concerning the splitting of the SPLM-IO into different cocoon, the only viable movement currently is SPLA-IO Kitgwang of 1st Lt General Simon Gatwech Dual and General Johnson Olony, The SPLM-IO of Dr. Riek Machar is already absorbed by SPLM-IG therefore ,we are calling upon Dr. Riek Machar if he still has a dream to denounce his silent surrender with his Sympathizers ,relinquish their positions in juba and return back to the headquarter of the movement to go Focus on the genuine implementation of the peace agreement. If Machar returns back to the headquarters, the Kitgwang is going to welcome him with his few members.
Regarding the recent call of president Kiir on peace talk to be held in Juba ,the SPLA-IO Kitgwang is not ready for negotiation in Juba, but we are ready for talk to be held elsewhere as it was said by General Simon. We are committed to the full implementation of the revitalized peace agreement but we are tired of those who keep on erecting hurdles on the way of achieving peace in the young nation. We want genuine implementation of peace agreement without encumbrances and whatsoever.
conclusion, we are also calling upon the Intergovernmental Authority for Development(IGAD),Troika and African Union to pressurize the warring parties in Juba to expedite and stick to the implementation of security arrangement as it is a vital prerequisite for the implementation of the rest the chapters of the agreement. If the security arrangement and the entire peace agreement is not implemented fully by the warring parties, SPLM-IO Kitgwang would not be part of the sham peace agreement , we are going to continue with the mission and vision of the struggle because our unity under the Juba regime is not attractive. The South Sudanese should not be deceived by fake peace agreements; we need a genuine peace that can restore our fragile state.
