July 12, 2022 — I know it’s so unbearable to all South Sudanese and specifically to my brothers and sisters from Eastern Equatoria State, for losing their love ones on daily basis because of rampant insecurity that is imposed by the cattle keepers who are believed to be from Dinka Bor of Jonglei State.

These circumstances has kept every concern citizens thinking for a couple of years since the onset of this painful action. Why can’t we emirate the peaceful coexistence from other nations and regions who fall in tribal wars and eventually realized that it is not productive to engage in village politics to enriched ourselves with public funds? Community politics are always mean to divide the innocent people by the elites who failed to overcome their political opponents in the game of resource allocation and position(s).

The people of South Sudan have been in war torn before and after the Independence which we thought would bring everlasting peace in the South, but killing ourselves is the major impact we have achieved so far as a result of the liberation struggle. My people, why did we fight the Arab when we are actually dangerous than the marginalization we claimed to quit during the previous years of war and suffering? Ending the life of someone is not just a sin, but a historical stain that won’t be easy to erase forever from the minds of the victims as well as the people around.

The people of Bor should accept the fact that the land they live in has its own people (host community) who have no idea of cattle in which they deserve to be free and respected simply because they didn’t go to other people’s land. It’s constitutionally acceptable to stay in any parts of South Sudan, but it’s not okay to disrupt the conducive and peaceful environment of that society. There is nothing important than staying with diverse population who tend to love one another, since it’s stated in the Bible that love your neighbor as you love yourself.

These are the kinds of motions that the Parliament should discuss and find a possible solutions to address the mass killing in Magwei County which demoralized and caught the attention of the patriotic citizens of South Sudan irrespective of tribe, background and language. It’s really disturbing when the life of our people has becomes so cheap more than the South Sudanese Pounds which has lost value against the United States Dollars (USD).

Therefore, I am calling on national government to intervene immediately so as to rescue these South Sudanese who are dying like insects because of a man made tragedy in their own motherland, meanwhile the government is busy implementing peace agreement which the citizens are not seeing on the ground. Peace is not only the absence of violence (war), but freedom of speech, movement, religion, work, education among others.
