Dec 30, 2021 — Early morning on 23rd I passed across a burning article on Nyamilepedia Facebook page written by certain gentleman recitation hard working Managing Director Chol Deng Thon Abel (Ph.D) as ‘’obsessed man with egocentricity, lustrous appetizers, chauvinistic and conspiracies.’’ Moreover, Monyluak Mijak is not the first to unethically attacked and tarnished the national and international image of Dr Abel whose hard work and professionalism dominate the region and beyond.

Today, am not going to response nor going to talk about posting details. Generally, an article overview, structure and the contents are all bogus and baseless which I could describe as ‘’blind critic in oil and gas sector in South Sudan’’ when managing director is achieving countless achievements. Indeed various authors, activists, media outlets, phony pages with fake names ‘ve been engaging insincere allegations, claims, whys and wherefores, pretexts, employees’ names, tribal words, nepotism, which many responsible figures termed as mere propaganda to gain public attention. Dr Chol Deng believes in teamwork, systematic, accuracy, right and genuine change that promote oil and gas sector to world level. He (Chol) never been and will never be in rash, unwise, and baseless conflict with his dear successors (Former MDs), comrades, colleagues and staffs and, particularly, oil and gas family as enemies of South Sudan progress may think.

Why Managing Director Dr Chol Deng Thon Abel is being successful in Nile Petroleum Corporation Company management…..Chol is working for common good which include The Country, the President and the People of South Sudan. His meant of doing anything the best, faster or more economically has his future and his fortune at his fingerprints. Since he stepped-in, he is aiming to explore, develop, produce, add value and manage resources in an efficient and environmentally sound manner; promote the sustainability and growth of the national oil industry, safeguard the national oil interest and guarantee higher returns for the nation; develop capable and competent management and technical workforce; be a socially responsible and environmentally-friendly business entity; vision of Nilepet: leading and competitive integrated oil and gas company of choice, operating with focus on profitability and environmental and social responsibility.

And before all these, Dr Chol had laid successful future plan developing oil and gas sector which led to planned Refineries in Manga, Thiangrial, Akon and Pagak areas. Apart from working with international partners to mobilize funds to operationalize Thiangrial, Akon and Pagak refineries soon; embarked on building a new modern Headquarters (HQS), a state of the art, green building which will accommodate more than 1100 staff and other subsidiaries. Under Chol leadership, social corporate responsibilities were realized like renovation of roads connecting Kuacjok-Wunrock, Parieng- Mayom, Gogrial-Akon; and successfully distributed educational materials in Juba day secondary school, Star secondary school and  Future Generations secondary. Nilepet has also assisted orphanage centers.

When Dr. Chol Deng Thon Abel was reappointed, he was massively welcome by staff, and well-wishers, Chol had excellent academic knowledge which includes Ph.D. research fellow at UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education and Delft University of Technology, Delft, the Netherlands; Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Water Supply Engineering and Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Civil Engineering, Electrical and Architecture; and the wider rich experiences as Former Director-General for Downstream and Managing Director at the Nile Petroleum Corporation since 2015.

Dr. Louwis Anei Kuendit in his Book, Titled Dinka Southern Sudan, 2006, stipulated Jieng/Mnyjang richness as based on the size of cows, other wealth and the family. The fact that others don’t know and should know, Dr Chol possesses modern qualities of great leader being visionary, confidence, focus, resilience, honesty, ability to inspire, positivity and as I knew him in shortest distance he is knowns of integrity, determination, good communication skills, decisiveness, sincerity, accountability, influence and hard work from his village.

Knowns as an energetic young leader who dream as work for common good as he is now pushing youth empowerment, trainings, jobs opportunities, oil storages expansion in Juba and Wau towns. Today, I should conclude that let gives enough chance to our leaders whether at government and private sectors, national, state or local government levels. On this, I should blame South Sudanese’s culture of baseless critic on the pass internet, lack of ethic, discipline and availability of smart phone on the wrong hands. If that not the case South Sudanese shouldn’t be busy on the Christmas preparation and celebration for the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ when other elements are busy attacking their fellow colleagues.
