In a statement seen by the Nyamilepedia on Tuesday, the SPLM-IO Director of Information and Public Relations Pouk Both Baluang said the group did not accepted nor rejected the proposal presented by the Sudanese mediation.

“The SPLM/A (IO) would like to inform it’s members and the public at large, that the SPLM/A (IO) had neither accepted nor rejected the power sharing proposal presented by the Sudanese mediation team on Monday July 16th,2018, as reported by whisper eye media website, yesterday July 17th,2018,” Baluang said in a statement.

Baluang said the proposal was just a mere suggestion by the Sudanese mediation saying his group has presented its position regarding the proposal waiting a respond from the mediation.

“The proposal submitted by the Sudanese mediation to the parties was a draft agreement with the express purpose of expressing their views. The SPLM/A (IO) submitted it’s position on the said proposal and is still awaiting a response from the Sudanese mediation,” the statement further said.

In the past, the SPLM-IO has been rejecting instantly past proposals just after it is unveiled but it is not clear why the movement stayed until now without rejecting or accepting the proposal three days after it is presented.
