October 9, 2021—The defacto Chairman and Commander-in-Chief of the SPLM/A(IO)-Kitgwang, 1st. Lt. Gen. Simon Gatwech Dual, has named the controversial Facebook activist James Kalany Mamuon as his Press Secretary.
In a statement obtained by Nyamilepedia , the self-imposed former Chief of General Staff of SPLA-IO has appointed Cde. Kalany on Friday, 8th of October 2021 as the Press Secretary in the Office of the interim Chairman and Commander-In-Chief of the SPLM-IO, Lt. Gen. Simon Gatwech Dual
“.. Based on structural document of the SPLM/A-IO and reference to Kitgwang Declaration, I, 1st Lt. Gen. Simon Gatwech Dual, the interim Chairman and Commander-In-Chief of the SPLM-IO Kitgwang, hereby appoint Cde. James Kalany Mamuon Biem as the Press Secretary in the Office of the interim Chairman and Commander-In-Chief of the SPLM-IO, with effect from 8th of October 2021”,Gen. Simon Gatwech appointed as reads in a statement.
Kalany, who defected from the SPLM/A-IO last year together with Mabior Garang de Mabior to popularize Tomato Revolution, a socio-political “national conversation” platform in the neighboring Kenya, has been addictively active on social media promoting Kitgwang Declaration since its inception in August this year.
Kalany, Mabior, Duany Thabach, Manasseh Daniel and other aspiring young politicians have since traveled to Magenes and Khartoum to join Kitgwang leadership; however, the two leaders of Kitgwang, Gen. Gatwech and Gen Olony, have unanimously agreed that there will be no space for politicians to pursuit their dying ambitions for regime change.
Within the last two weeks, the leaders of Kitgwang Faction severally denied fighting for a regime change and urged any politician who is joining them with the hope to fight for regime change to vacate Kitgwang and establish his/her own faction.
The Kitgwang group is currently negotiating with the government in Khartoum with hopes to reach better settlement on the implementation of the security arrangement.
