Petroleum Minister briefs President Kiir on activities within oil sector

June 28, 2021 – South Sudan Minister of Petroleum, Puot Kang Chol has today met President Salva Kiir Mayardit in his office and briefed him about the progress he has made within the oil sector.

This comes not less than a week after the Council of Ministers met and passed the resolutions to improve the oil sector.

The Council of Ministers, with recommendations from Kang, agreed on Unified Human Resources Management Policy Manual, Local content, Cost recovery audit, and Environmental audit.

In a statement obtained by Nyamilepedia, the President directed the Minister to implement the resolutions that were passed by the Council of Ministers meeting on the improvement of the oil sector.

Kang also briefed Kiir about the Africa Oil and Power Conference that will take place tomorrow in Juba on 29th June 2021, which will be attended by regional and continental Ministers of Petroleum and Energy.

Kiir promised his attendance to officially launch the opening of the Africa Oil and Power Conference that will take place in Juba at Crown Hotel tomorrow Tuesday 28 June.

In presence of Dr. Barnaba Marial Benjamin, the Minister of Presidential Affairs, Kang reiterated his commitment and readiness to work and implementation the recommendations for the betterment of the country.
