Hon. Nhial Deng meets South African Ambassador to South Sudan

Sep 16, 2020(Nyamilepedia) — South Sudan Minister of Presidential Affairs, Hon. Nhial Deng Nhial, met the South African Ambassador to South Sudan, Amb. Gordon M. Yekelo.

According to the South Sudanese official, the two leaders discussed issues of bilateral relations between South Sudan and South Africa.

In his remarks to the media after the meeting, Amb. Gordon Yekelo said that South Africa will continue to support the implementation of the peace agreement to ensure that the outstanding tasks are implemented.

Hon. Nhial Deng, one of the former mediators of the revitalized peace agreement, was appointed to the office of President Kiir recently to replace the former Minister Mayiik Ayii Deng after the later failed to supervised Juba-Bhar el Ghazal Highway.

So far Hon. Nhial has stepped both at his personal capacity and also alongside president Kiir to meet with foreign diplomates to address issues of bilitaral relations.

South Africa, which has interest in the South Sudanese oil sector, is playing an independent role to help South Sudan attaind peace, however, the challenge has been met with obstacle as the South Sudanese leaders are making very little compromises.
