High school examination results released with the top student from Upper Nile State scoring 95.1%

Juba, South Sudan

October 15,2021— South Sudan’s Minister of General Education and Instruction, Hon. Awut Deng Achuil, has announced today the 2020/2021 results of the South Sudan Certificate of the Secondary Education.

According to the Ministrer, the best performers of this year are females whose passed percentage amounted to 97.5% while males candidates passed with maximum of 97.3%.

“Female candidates have performed better than male candidates in this year’s exams with a 97.5% pass while the male had 97.3% pass”, read the statement seen by Nyamilepedia.

The top student of this year is identified as Joseph Obwany Okic Nyikang from Joshua Okwaci Secondary school of Upper Nile State with a mean score of 95.1%.

According to the information from the Minister, the students who appeared in top ten are not the same gender, there are 7 male candidates while 3 of them are female candidates most of whom hailed from Central Equatorial State.

The best school which has produced a mean grade of 89.6% is St. Daniel Comboni Secondary school.

“St. Daniel Comboni SS from Central Equatoria State is the best performing school with a mean grade of 89.6%”, the statement added.

Meanwhile, Eastern Equatoria State is the best performing State with a mean grade of 79.96% followed by Jonglei State with 78.11% while the least performing state is Upper Nile State.

In this year’s examination, 11, 716 girls and 22, 820 boys sat for the Certificate of Secondary Examination(CSE).

Due to unavoidable irregularities the announcement of the results took 7 months and the ministry of general education and instruction has been highly criticized for the delay.
