February 2, 2022 — The former SPLM-IO nominee for position of Deputy Minister of Interior has been appointed the Executive Director in the office of the First Vice President, Dr. Riek Machar Teny.
Ms. Nyanagwek Kuol, who is also the Chairperson of the SPLM-IO in Abyei Administrative Area (AAA) has been appointed by First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar Teny as the executive director in his office.
In a statement extended to Nyamilepedia , Cde. Gai Mayen Luk, the chairperson of Specialized Committee for Youth and Sports at Reconstituted Transitional Legislative Assembly (R-TNLA) appreciates the First Vice President, Dr. Riek Machar, for his unwavering support to women empowerment.
“.. Congratulations to you comrade Nyenagwek Manayom on your well deserved appointment as the Executive Director in the office of the First Vice President, H.E. Dr. Riek Machar Teny-Dhurgon”, Cde. Gai stated in a brief statement.
“Thanks Cde. Chairman for continuing to empower women”, he added.
Nyenagek Kuol was nominated last year to fill the position of Deputy Ministry for Interior, which was vacated by Cpt. Mabior Garang, but after president Kiir refused to approve the appointment, she called it off and advised Dr. Machar to try someone else.
Nyanagwek Kuol defected to Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-In-Opposition under FVP Dr. Machar in 2019 after her disagreement with her group members (Former Detainees) over the issue of 32 and 10-States where she favored the country’s return to 10 states.
In addition to this position, the former minister in Warrap state remains the chairperson of SPLM/A-IO in Abyei Administrative Area.
