Fighting in Central Equatoria in blow to peace deal

October 8th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – Fighting has broke out between government troops  and opposition forces in Central Equatoria region in a new blow to the ceasefire agreement signed in Juba and the September 12 agreement signed in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa.

Several sources told the Nyamilepedia this afternoon fighting had broke out at Jamara in Yei River start follow an offensive the opposition troops said was launched against their position by government troops this morning.

“Yes there is fighting ongoing as I speak to you. We are not sure where exactly but the sound of the gun is coming propecia buy from teh direction of Jamara and we could not understand who attacked who between the rival forces,” one resident of Kajo-Keji county told the Nyamilepedia on the condition of anonymity.

South Sudan President, Salva Kiir Mayardiit and opposition leader Dr. Riek Machar Teny-Dhurgon signed a permanent ceasdefire agreement in June 2018 in teh Sudanese capital Khartoum.

The talks in Khartoum were hosted by the Sudanese President Omar Hassan Ahmed Al-Bashir as part of IGAD effort to end the ongoing conflict which engulfed the country since December 2013.

Later in September, South Sudan President his main rival turned peace partner, Machar signed the long awaited revitalized peace agreement in Ethiopia raising hope iof end to teh ongoing conflict.
