September 23rd 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan said on Friday that recent report by the US-based firm, The Sentry, was targeting the president and his family.

Last week, The Sentry exposed – in a report – a network of profiteers from South Sudan’s conflict and said most senior government officials including the President and his family members were benefiting from the ongoing civil war.

However, speaking to journalists on Friday, information minister Michael Makuei said the report was nothing less than just targeting the family of President Salva Kiir Mayardit and no reality in it.

“Let’s call a spade a spade. It is targeting the family of the president and it is something planned to coincide with current developments,” Makuei said.

“What they [The Sentry] wrote there and the drawing they did is nothing other than the family of the president. All the companies they mentioned ended up in the family of president, the first lady, daughter and the son and this is something coordinated,” Makuei said.

Makuei said those who wrote the report are against peace in the world’s youngest nation and would never celebrate in case peace return.

“These are people who are against peace in South Sudan. They will never celebrate our peace, instead they will mourn it,” Makuei said.
