US Trump to meet Kiir after unity gov’t formation – FVP Taban

October 16th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – US President Donald J. Trump will invite President Salva Kiir Mayardit to Washington DC once he form the long-awaited unity government with opposition groups, First Vice-President Taban Deng Gai said Wednesday.

The First Vice President made the remarks following a meeting with President Salva Kiir in which he briefed the head of state over his recent visit to the US where he attended the 74th United Nations General Assembly.

“The First Vice President, Gen. Taban Deng Gai informed President Salva Kiir that, the government of the United States of America has pledged and ready to invite President Salva Kiir to the United States of America to meet with President Donald Trump after the formation of the Transitional government of National Unity in November,” the Presidency said in a statement seen by Nyamilepedia.

The statement quoted Deng as saying the government enjoys the great support of “the whole world” adding that the international community “wants the parties to implement the Revitalized Peace Agreement.”
