Hon. Koang Rambang Chol the new deputy Governor of Bieh State….

April 01, 2015 (Nyamilepedia)—-While everything comes and goes, the community linage is the only permanent heritage in the history of African tradition and anywhere in the world.

I take this opportunity to thank the leadership of SPLM/A (IO) for the trust that is vested upon me in this difficult period and accept the task associated with the recent appointment to the position of the Deputy Governor for newly created Bieh State. It is true that the position carries a lot of challenges but at the same time present opportunities to maintain and strengthen the Unity of Lou Nuer and their respective sub-clans while appreciating the reality that the strength of the Lou Nuer community lies in their unity.

I thank God and the people of Akobo for making it possible for me to serve them before and after this crisis and appreciate those that are committed to fight this just course along side other South Sudanese that have been subjected to this unnecessary suffering by Salva Kiir’s regime. My special thank goes to the Lou Nuer community in Diaspora for their firm stand, continued support and encouragement that has kept us, in the field, moving on.

While human commitment is paramount to anything in this world, I thank God for all His guidance and protection that has made it possible for me to reach this far. I finally give my sincere appreciation to my family particularly my dear wife Nyakuol Gatleak Mathot, that the current situation has kept me away from, for her wise understanding and support that has helped my concentration on communal affairs rather then demanding my presence around her when she really need my support at the delivery of Jiekor through Cesarean. God bless you my dear.

The unity of Lou Nuer that bonded them together this far is based on the unity demonstrated by the local leadership of Cde Simon Hoth Duol, commonly known as the senior Commissioner, Cde Wany Juet Jock, the entire military commanders and I, informed by the events of mid 1995 to 2003 where our senior officers then lost their lives in our very own hands.

With the appointment of Cde Koang Gatkuoth Kerjiok as the Governor for Bieh State, I wish to reiterate to the entire Lou Nuer community that the episode for the period mentioned above shall never be repeated. Thanks to the reality that we are all living eyewitnesses to what happened then.

With that, we must remain united and work together with the leadership of Lou Nuer and the entire Leadership of SPLM/A (IO) to further the struggle until every South Sudanese is finally free. It must be understood that Lou Nuer is the center stone of ethnic Nuer and the other South Sudanese that have been subjected to suffering resulted from the war imposed on the nation by its leader.

On our relations with the neighboring communities, we shall continue to maintain our good relations with neighboring communities including our Murle brothers while urging the Anyuak to be mindful of ethnic conflict that torn our community apart in early 1980s.

God bless you all.

We are praying for peace to our ancestral land in Lou Nuer! The entire Luo community in Kenya, Uganda, DRC and Tanzania are shocked that the fight still continues and the innocent blood of our children is shed day after day. My hands are weak and my knees feeble and I dont have the might to tell my brothers to stop the fight.

The Luo community in Kenya and Tanzania had conflicts too, amongst themselves and with their neighbors. But through good leadership, the Nilotic and Bantu communities decided it was enough and formed a union now known as the Homogenous Luo Community of Kenya and Tanzania-over history it is now categorized as a single tribe consisting of close to six million people. I am a hibrid of the Luo (Nilotic Acholi)-Luhya (Bantu Nyala)-Gusii (Bantu-Asumbi) union in Kisumu and Homa Bay Counties.

The community consists of rich history of immigrants from the Uganda including the Acholi, Alur, Padhola, Iteso, Lango, the Kenyan- Luhya and Ekegusii affiliates (Migrating from Luhya community: Some Nyala, Nyore, Samia, Wanga, Logoli and the Marachi), and the Tanzanian- Nyika Communities (Suba, Sukuma, Sukuma, Wakeru) and still growing through intermarriages and assimilation. The Community now has a common language combining the Nilotic, Bantu, Swahili and English.

May the Sudanese also unite and allow love, relationships and marriages to creat one large peaceful and happy Sudanese community. Accept that all have weaknesses and give dialogue a chance my brothers!!
