Jan 13, 2017(Nyamilepedia) —— Yesterday evening, a platoon of some 32 regime soldiers under the command of Capt. Samuel Gai Bang defected from Renk and joined the gallant SPLA-IO at Kuek. The platoon had been abandoned and isolated in the area without salaries and access to some basic food and medical services for weeks.

Speaking at the reception parade, the platoon commander thanked the gallant SPLA-IO leadership at Kuek for the open-arm welcome and congratulated the gallant SPLA-IO forces for the discipline they have shown in executing the campaign against the ruthless regime in Juba.

The platoon commander decried the ongoing mistreatment by the regime in Juba of its very own soldiers from other ethnic communities that the regime believes are posing a potential threat to the survival of its extractive, autocratic and authoritarian policies in the Republic of South Sudan (RSS).

The platoon commander then informed the reception at Kuek that the regime in Juba is indeed under the full and complete control of the Jieng Council of Elders (JCE) who believe that the liberation of South Sudan was the sacrifice of one ethnic group only. The platoon commander also informed the gallant SPLA-IO forces at Kuek that the regime in Juba is desperate and shaken and is therefore prepared to use any means at its disposal to commit a large-scale genocide on other ethnic communities and destroy the independence of South Sudan in the process.

The platoon commander appealed to those still loyal to the regime in Juba to join the vision and mission of the SPLM/A-IO under the able leadership of Dr Riek Machar Teny. The platoon commander appealed to the people of South Sudan to continue mobilising the region and the international community to isolate and bring down the regime in Juba.
