Gatluak when on to say “This is to announces to the world, Nuer community in General and the people of Unity State in particular, that we have cut contact with the group of Nuor Makuei Nyang who, since his return from Juba after the conspiracy let by Taban in Juba, has been working hard lobbying members of our community to join the Killer, Taban Deng Gai, who have chosen to abandon the cause of the liberation struggle for the sack of his personal need”.

Separately, the secretary of information Gatjuol Daang Luak told Nyamilepedia that the leadership of the association resolved to inform all the Bentiu Community members in cairo and worldwide to cut contact with the defecting members leads by Nuor Makuei Nyang.

On Sunday, thirty-two (32) members – among which five (5) of them have been brought back – of the SPLM-In-Opposition in Cairo declared their allegiance to Taban Deng’s group in Juba. The group, which includes, Elizabeth Nyekong, who was the Chairwoman of the SPLM IO women league Chapter in Egypt, was led by Nuor Makuei Nyang who was the SPLM IO Chapter’s security advisor in Egypt.

Thousands of ethnic Nuer civilians were killed in December 2013 when troops and militias loyal to president Salva Kiir allegedly Targeted Nuer civilian based on their ethnic identity.

The ethnic Targeting killings led the country into a bloody civil war which since then continued for two and half years fitting Kiir’s Dinka tribe against Machar’s Nuer tribe.

In August 2015, a shaky peace deal was signed by Dr Riek Machar Teny on behalf of the armed Opposition and president Salva Kiir on behalf of the South Sudan government which paved way for Machar’s return to Juba in April this year.

However, clashes, which led to Machar’s expulsion from Juba by Kiir, occurred in July between the Government and Opposition troops opening a new chapter of war between the two warring parties.

Since July there has been growing fear that South Sudan is at the brink of another full scale war unless the region and the international community intervene.

The region has approved 4000 strong troops that was approved by the AU and UNSC to be deployed in Juba, South Sudan, to protect civilians and installations, however, the government has continue to obstruct the deployment of foreign troops.
