Sep 14, 2021 — Not only Paul Malong but also Thomas Cirrillo and the rest need to be present at the highly anticipated SPLM/A-IO First Revolutionary Conference scheduled for the 30th of September, 2021 in the historic town of Kitgwang of the Northern Upper Nile State.

The conference is undergoing serious planning stages by the SPLM/A-IO movement’s Interim Leadership. And, it will be the first of its kind that many compatriots and revolutionary personalities from different political and military backgrounds are encouraged to be there. The rationale for the need for inclusiveness is that a new and nationwide insurgency waged against the rogue regime in Juba. The upcoming conference is very important as many have been waiting to restructure and formulate an action-oriented policy and exhibit directives that would guide the struggles.

More importantly, the conference’s objective is to be of a special focus on the reactivation of revolutionary struggles and therefore many will turn up. Given the fact that this conference will be for the strugglers to reaffirming their support for radical and proactive position to the new liberation formats not only Paul Malong is eligible to attend but also all the holdouts factions, including amongst the few, Buoy Rolnyang, Thomas Cirrillo and the political ones such as Pagan and others. The agendas are to address much on the consolidation of the Kitgwang Declaration ‘objective that seek for total liberation of the people of South Sudan from the political chain of bondages.

One of the underlying reasons for the Kitgwang Declaration, and that served as the divisive device within the former SPLM/A-IO structures, was lack of vision. Kitgwang Declaration was a protest to what the generals called, “An Advancement of a Family Project” by the former Chairman-Dr. Riek Machar. Meanwhile, one of the SPLM-IO movements ‘failing factor was a nepotism and lack of a revolutionary leadership ability of Dr Riek Machar. And, not to fallen under the same traps, the SPLM/A-IO movement’s Kitgwang objective is the obliteration of the deadly preferential treatment and open up the gates of the revolution for all the well-wishers.

Hence, it appears somewhat clear that the new SPLM/A-IO under Gen Simon Gatwech Dual is calling for a nationally popular inclusive, effective, and radical form of the revolutionary struggle unlike the former whose prime objective was privileged. All are welcomed regardless of the background.

Therefore, we appreciated the new beginning and it isn’t bad for the SPLM-IO interim leader General Simon Gatwech Dual to extend an invitation to Paul Malong’s movement whatsoever. That depends on how individual revolutionary members perceive Malong’s background as his contribution on instigation earlier of the current conflict in South Sudan. However, there is one thing in common and, no matter what related to the latter, the revolution has only one enemy which is the system in Juba. all are omitted for the sake of the unified national liberation.
