Upper Nile state prosecutor general murdered – family source

Jul 13, 2020 (Nyamilepedia) — The prosecutor general for Upper Nile state, Justice Thoma Aban Akol Ajawin has been murdered in the state capital Malakal, according to family sources.
The top state judicial official who was Dr. Lam Akol’s brother was gunned down near his home in Malakal by gunmen who are still not known, according to one family source.

“This is to inform you that Upper Nile state Prosecutor General Thoma Aban Akol Ajawin has been killed by unknown gunman yesterday night,” the family member who refused to be named told Nyamilepedia on phone from Malakal.

Another family member also confirmed on Facebook the demise of the prosecutor general and said he was murdered in cold blood.

“Those cowards who killed you in cold blood will pay one day. He was assassinated in Malakal last night,” the family member said.
