September 20th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – The United Nations Secretary-General Special Representative to South Sudan and the head of the UNMISS has urged the South Sudan’s parties to withdraw forces from close proximity in Yei River State to avoid clashes similar to the ones that took place last week.

South Sudan’s troops loyal to the government and those loyal to the former First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar’s SPLM-IO clashed in Yei last week with both sides accusing each other.

Government troops also attacked a UNMISS base in the former Central Equatoria town igniting a condemnations from international community.

Speaking at a press conference held on Wednesday in the Capital Juba, the head of UNMISS in the country urged parties to the conflict to fully implement the agreement stressing that people are eager to see practical implementation of the agreement on the ground.

“The important point is that, with the agreement revitalized signed last Wednesday, and the disengagement of those forces, it means that they should pull back so they are not in a position where they need to, or might be prone to going buy generic accutane into conflict with each other, and that is what we are wanting to see so that we have peace in that area,” Shearer told journalists.

The SRSG asserted that, as a last resort,
the implementation of the agreement signed by South Sudan warring factions is the only option and no other way around that will get the people of South Sudan out of this crisis, adding that if the agreement fails there shall be no any other solution left.

“I think that most people have said, and pretty much overwhelmingly, that they are positive about the peace agreement going forward. It’s the only peace agreement that’s on the table at the moment. So, in a way, we don’t have a Plan B, this is it, that’s certainly our position,” he said.

He said the revitalized agreement inked last week by the parties is a positive way forward but it has been received with curiosity because people haven’t been down this road before.

“People are positive about it but cautious too because they’ve been through this before. So, people would like to see real action on the ground,” he added

South Sudan President, Salva Kiir Mayardiit and opposition leader Dr. Riek Machar Teny signed the long awaited Revitalized peace agreement in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa ending five-year old brutal conflict.
