October 20th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – Members of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) delegation have arrived in Juba ahead of meetings with President Kiir and other parties to the revitalized peace agreement, a senior government official said.

“Yes it’s true, the United Nations Security delegation has landed and they will directly go to Gorom cantonment site to access the situation of the cantonment,” Michael Makuei, information minister told the Nyamilepedia this morning from Juba.

“They will then return in the afternoon and meet with His Excellency the President,” he added.

The team is expected to visit a cantonment site of Gorom outside Juba before meeting Kiir and the other parties.

South Sudan’s main armed opposition leader Dr. Riek Machar Teny arrived to Juba on Saturday and the UN delegation is expected to broker a deal between him and Kiir over pending issues such as security arrangements and the number and boundaries of states.
