August 04, 2020 (Nyamilepedia) — Life in Uganda is coming back to normalcy after months of total and partial lockdown. Some of the activities have remained paralyzed due to the current COVID-19 pandemic. In the sporting department in Uganda, they believe that some of the non-contact sports can proceed. That can only happen if they can meet the required health precautions from the health ministry.

Some of the proposed sports include golf, cricket, athletics, and tennis. These sports are not as high risk as rugby, football, and others that have a lot of body contact.

Since March, most of the sporting activities have been at a standstill in the world. By May, most of the European clubs had returned to their sporting activities. That happened with strict rules set by the health ministry of the respective countries. Some of the rules include matches going on with no fans in the stadium. They had to get back to action since they had lost a lot of commercial revenue.

In Uganda, there is no much revenue in sporting activities. The question is, why is the rush in the reopening of the sporting activities?    One of the significant reasons why the top leagues in Europe resumed back their normal operations is to generate income. Ugandan being fans of sports, the return of some of the events would put a smile on their faces.

Another interesting factor to consider is betting parlors. Most of the locals in the country regularly engage in wagering activities through Betway Uganda Sports betting and other leading bookies to have more fun with their favorite games. Additionally, most people frequent betting parlors spread out all over the country.

Betway is a leading bookie in Uganda, with thousands of sports betting markets, virtual sports, and online casino games. The company is licensed by Uganda’s gaming board, and the sign-up process is pretty straightforward. The company also operates several betting shops in the streets of Uganda, helping people without an internet connection to place wagers.

Betting parlors in Uganda pose minimal risk to the players, and are easy for the government to regulate. However, the main question is whether it is difficult to control betting parlors compared to local markets like Nakasero and Owino.

The good news is that multichoice Uganda has confirmed the resumption of the live coverage of the world’s top football leagues this month. That’s fantastic news for sports enthusiasts who are GoTV and Dstv customers. That comes as sporting activities around the world are crippling back to normal around the world. As such, Supersport viewers will enjoy a large number of live actions available on supersport, which is looking forward to increasing significantly this month. And will provide great wagering opportunities  on Betway.

There is some hope in the resumption of the sporting activities in Uganda.  The resumption will be done under strict guidelines as advised by the ministry of health. The new norms will be social distancing, regular check-ups, and playing behind closed doors.

The body Behind the sporting activities in Uganda, the National council of sports (NCS) released the standard operating procedures (SOP) that federations must follow so that the sports activities may resume fully.

According to NCS generals secretary Bernard Patrick Ogwel, The NCS will work closely with the federation to see how best to restart. The sports body has categorized the sports into three disciplines; low risk, medium risk, and high risk.

Low risk includes games with no contact. They include archery, cycling, darts, fencing Athletics, Golf, Motorsport, Pool, Rowing, Swimming, Skating, Zukanneh

Medium risk games are the ones with minimal contacts. The games include Baseball and Softball, Floorball, Deaf Sports, Gymnastics, Lacrosse, Lawn bowls, Sports Climbing, Squash, Weightlifting, Hockey, Cricket, Chess, Scrabble, Table tennis, VX, Ludo, Lawn tennis, Badminton, Draughts, Volleyball

High-risk games are the ones that have maximum contact. They include Basketball, Boxing, Handball, Judo, Kabaddi, Kickboxing, Netball, Rugby, Soccer/Football, Taekwondo and Wrestling.
