According to reliable information received by Nyamilepedia, the duo will join the SPLM Political Bureau in recognition of their hardwork and sacrifices to the party and Salva Kiir leadership.

“Deng Athorbei has been a member of the SPLM for a very long time since the liberation and has been doing a very good work on the side of finance”, SPLM senior member Kuol Manyang told Sudantribune last month.

He added that Tut Gatluak is a newcomer but he said despite the fact that he is new to party policies he has been scoring numerous achievements which are very helpful to SPLM.

“You know very well that Tut Gatluak was a member of the National Congress and declared his joining of the SPLM and for a long time he has been there since 2006 when the Juba Declaration was made and now is monitoring the implementation of the revitalized peace agreement,” he emphasized.

Tut Gatluak Manime is a former member of National Islamic Front (NIF) which is referred to in modern days as “National Congress Party” a party of hardliners in Khartoum against which the SPLM fought its sectarian ideology for more than 20 years.

Gatluak has been constantly accused by SPLM senior members as an agent sent by NIF to destabilize the Republic of South Sudan with intention to reunite the divided Sudan.

In June he was nominated as member of Parliament on SPLM ticket, however, his appointment was widely criticized by the so-called SPLM loyalists.

On the other hand Gatluak is considered to be a man of peace with reputation of leading a lot of peace initiatives one of which is the  Juba Peace Agreement(JPA), a Sudanese peace agreement that was signed in Juba on October 3, 2020 under the leadership of President Kiir and Tutkew.

Gatluak also gets credit for leading and supervising the current revitalized peace agreement between Kiir and his arch rival, Machar.
