January 28th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan Presidential Press Secretary, Ateny Wek Ateny denied in a statement on Monday reports that he has been admitted in a hospital in the neighboring Uganda.

Social media reports claimed on Sunday evening that Ateny was rushed to a hospital in Uganda where he underwent a failed ophthalmic operation.

In a statement issued on Monday, Ateny said he is not sick nor he has any problem with his right eye.

“The statement which appeared yesterday January 27, 2019 on the fake news agency (the so called South Sudan News Agency) that I was admitted in the Hospital in Uganda and had underwent a failed ophthalmic operation, was a mere propaganda and wishful-thinking,” he said in a statement he posted on his social media Facebook page.

“I am very well and had no ophthalmic problem on my right eye as it was reported…… So, this is to inform the family, in-laws, friends and well-wishers that there is nothing to worry about since I am not sick in the first place,” he added.
