In a statement seen by Nyamilepedia, South Sudan Vice President for Service Cluster, Hon. Hussein Abdulbagi, who facilitated the mediation as the Chairperson of the Aneet Fact Finding Committee, says chiefs and elders from the two conflicting communities, Twic and Ngok Dinka, have inked the document and pledged to implement it to ensure the two Dinka communities live in peace and harmony.

“.. Finally, Abyei and Twic Chiefs have validated the cessation of hostilities in Northern Bahr el Ghazal state’s capital Aweil to boost reconciliation and justice processes” committee chair, Hon. Hussein Abdelbagi, stated in his official page.

According to Hon. Abdelbagi, the Chiefs on both sides, vowed to respect the agreement to ensure the two communities of Twic and Ngok Dinka reconcile, heal and live in peace.

Hussein stressed that the document called-off the land survey that could have been one of the factors in Aneet disputes.

He calls on people, who were displaced by the conflict, to return to their homes, emphasizing that they will submit their finding to head of State within three months.

“. Nevertheless, I (we) called on the IDPs to return to their homes as the situation continues to improve. Aneet Fact Finding committee will present its investigation report to the President ahead of the final resolution of Aneet conflict within 90 days”, the statement further explained.
