Kiir urged to treat retired politicians with respect, dignity

September 24th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan President Salva Kiir Mayardit has been urged to treat retired politicians with respect and dignity.

This come days after Presidential Advisor, General Joseph Lagu – a veteran politician who led the first Southern Sudanese rebellion against Khartoum until 1972 – was asked to vacate a government house in central Juba.

In reaction, the leader of United South Sudan party has called on the government of President Salva Kiir Mayardit to treated retired politicians with respect and dignity.

Many social media users inside and outside South Sudan also denounced the decision of the government to expelled the renowned veteran politician from the government house.
