December 5th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan President, Salva Kiir Mayardiit has told the citizens of Lobonok County in Central Equatoria state that they are not for peace for allegedly hosting the recruitment and training camp for the troops joinging Gen. Thomas Cirilo.

Kiir was speaking during a SPLM rally held on Monday in Lobonok County Headquarters, a small town 30 Kilometers outside the South Sudan’s capital Juba.

During his remarks, President Kiir, according to the independent Radio Tamazuj website, told the citizens that they are not for peace and one of the proves is that the residents are harboring rebel base belong to the National Salvation Front (NAS) leader Gen. Thomas Cirilo.

“You said you are for peace, but I can say that you are not for peace. Thomas Cirillo would have not established his training camp here for you to be trained in his camp if you were for peace,” Kiir was quoted by the Radio Tamazuj at a rally in Lobonok County of Jubek State on Monday.

Kiir accused the people of collaborating with the rebels saying that the people know that they are in the state and that they are mining with them and also talking to them, an accusation the Nyamilepedia could not verify.

“You know very well that they are here. They are involved in gold mining and you go to them and talk to them,” Kiir further said.

Gen. Thomas Cirilo is the leader of the National Salvation Front – Thomas Cirilo (NAS-TC) which pulled out of South Sudan’s peace process in September to protest what it referred to as lack of willingness by the mediators to address issues of their concerns like the question of federalism and the number of the states during the transitional period.

In recent days, the group has been accusing the government and the SPLM-IO on one side of launching join military operations against it bases in Central Equatoria’s Yei River state, an allegation the Nyamilepedia could not independently verify.
