Oct 26, 2016(Nyamilepedia) —–– On Oct 25th, President Salva Kiir decreed the state Governors as “interim chairpersons” of the SPLM in their respective states.

In a statement read over South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSBC) on Tuesday evening President Kiir said South Sudan is for everyone and all of us own and so the SPLM Governors should work collectively with other South Sudanese Political parties “in reconciling the people for our country better”.

Retreating from earlier remarks against minority tribes in the country, Kiir said it is not necessary that “they join our party SPLM but we must work with them collectively because South Sudan is for all of us, adding that “It is not for the ruling party – SPLM alone”.

He added that “I am now telling you all the Governors because you are the ones going to the state or grass roots”.

The SPLM Acting Secretary-General, Jemma Nunu Kumba said working with other political parties is “part of multi-partism and a room of multi-politicalism practices”.

Nunu added that the SPLM as a ruling party must need to work with other South Sudanese political parties to move the country forward for better development.

“As you Governors may recall, “our H.E President Salva Kiir Mayardit” has called upon the SPLM and all the people of South Sudan to support the SPLA/M – IOs under the leadership of Taban Deng Gai first vice president of the republic of South Sudan to go ahead with implementation of the peace agreement, as all of us we need now is peace in our country,” she said.

On Oct 22, Hon. Dr. Martine Elias Lomuro, National Minister of Cabinet Affairs, says two more states to be created soon in the former Upper Nile and former Western Bhar al-Ghazal to resolve local disputes.

“Now we have 30 states instead of 28, and a nine member team has been formed led by the First Vice President to report back to the President within seven days” Hon. Lomuro was explaining to a recent JMEC meeting.

He added that these 30 states, with the additional two, will resolve the ongoing conflict between the Shiluk and the Dinka Padang over Malakal area, and the Raja-Aweil conflict in Upper Nile and Western Bahr el-Ghazal, respectfully.

Despite the remarks of president Salva Kiir, many political parties in South Sudan do not feel democracy and pluralism under Salva Kiir.

While leaders of opposition parties have either been killed or arrested, others have defected and formed a military-political opposition parties.

Ministers and Members of parliament within the SPLM main streams have continually defected to join SPLM/SPLA in Opposition.
