Governors of Northern Liech and Twic meets over cross-border cattle theft

April 27th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – Two governors of Northern Liech and Twic states have met in the country’s Akortong area of Twic state over cross-border cattle theft, a senior state government official in Northern Liech said on Saturday.

Lam Tunguar Kueiguong, the state minister of information and government spokesman told the Nyamilepedia that the meeting between Joseph Nguen Manytuil and Atem Madut Yak that was aimed at solving issues such as cattle raids and what he said were senseless killings was also attended by the third infantry division commander Gen. Bol Bol.

“We had a meeting that resolves the Twic and Northern Liech issue of cattle rustling and senseless killings,” he told the Nyamilepedia from Bentiu on Saturday.

He said the meeting was decided upon following the killing of five innocent people by criminals between Ajak Kuach, in Twic state, and Mombil in Northern Liech.

“This meeting was conducted after 5 people where randomly killed by some criminals between Ajak Kuach and Mombil,” Lam said.

He said the criminals have been arrested and cattle keepers are now allowed to graze their cattle in the areas.

“Those criminals are now arrested and the cattle keepers are now allowed and ordered by the two governors to returns to the grazing land in river bank of Lol River,” he said.

He said the disputed between the cattle keepers has been resolved and the pastoralists will be protected by the army’s third and fourth infantry divisions.

“And it’s resolved that all the cattle keepers will be protected by our military men in uniforms both from the two infantry divisions of 3 and 4,” he said adding: “Any one who caused any insecurity or thief will be punished dearly.”
