May 31st, 2017(Nyamilepedia) —– In response to what he calls a “provocation” by the regime and a recently appointed governor of Imatong State, the SPLM/A-IO Governor of Imatong State, Dr. Oyet Nathaniel Pierino, orders his troops to destabilize propaganda of the regime and take appropriate actions to punish the regime and Imatong State government.
“In that vein I am directing all the military organs of the SPLAIO in Imatong state to convene an emergency security and command meetings to discuss this provocative and destabilizing propaganda of the regime and take appropriate action to punish the regime and Imatong state government. ” Said Hon. Oyet Nathaniel Pierino,
Hon. Oyet, a major general in SPLA-IO army, believes that a recent report by officials in Juba that he has joined Kiir’s unilateral dialogue was a direct insult on his leadership and that of SPLM/A-IO.
“the government of Imatong state issued yet another statement tantamount to a provocation and offensive disposition that SPLMAIO forces in Imatong state has joined the fake and one sided National Dialogue.” Oyet continued.
“This is utterly untrue statement and I would like to categorically state that SPLAIO has been provoked and we are considering the best possible response to prove to the regime and South Sudan that we are not what they say and will never be part of the so called dialogue.” He adds.
Oyet, a former Professor and overall head of Political science department at Juba University, accuses the recently appointed governor, Hon. Tobiolo Alberto Oromo, of seaking attention by “spreading unfounded rumors and propaganda” to get attention and favor of President Salva Kiir.
“It’s understandable that the newly appointed SPLMIG governor of a decentralize pseudo state of Imatong Hon. Tobiolo Alberto Oromo is seeking attention of the president by appearing a good boy by spreading unfounded rumors and propaganda.” Oyet said.
According to top leaders of SPLM/A-IO and other oppositions, president Salva Kiir is attempting to dialogue with himself by excluding Dr. Machar and SPLM/A-IO, and therefore, they discredit and disqualify the “National Dialogue” as a monologue that will never achieve a genuine peace and reconciliation of South Sudanese people.
The IO leadership reiterates that a national dialogue could only be effective if guns are silenced and to silence the guns there has to be an inclusive political process that is accepted by all parties.
On the other hand, President Kiir has called on the oppositions to represent themselves in the national dialogue but warns that the Chairman of the main opposition, Dr. Riek Machar Teny, must not participate in his national dialogue.
Machar has not responded but he seems not interested in Kiir’s one sided dialogue as the opposition insists on resuscitation of August 2015 Peace Agreement.
