According to the Presidential Affairs ministry, the Egyptian ambassador congratulated Hon.  Nhial Deng for the little progress made in peace implementation so far.

“The Egyptian Ambassador Dr. Mohamed Kadah congratulated the Minister of Presidential Affairs Nhial Deng Nhial for the progress made so far on the implementation of the R-ARCRSS, especially on the recent reached Agreement on the responsibility sharing in the allocation of States Government amongst the parties.” The Ministry of Presidential Affairs states in its press release.

The Minister of Presidential Affairs expressed his great appreciation to the Egyptian Government for their continuous support to South Sudan.

In addition, Nhial Deng praised the momentum of bilateral relations between South Sudan and Egypt since the formation of R-TGoNU.

Over the last 6 years, Egypt has tied many billateral knots with South Sudan ranging from military, land, agriculture to development and humanitarian assistance.

The Egyptian government, which has been trying to stop the conduction of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, has been accused of trying to use South Sudan to intimidate Ethiopia but that did not deter the Ethiopian government from contructing its dam and filling it.

The Egyptian government recently donated humanitarian items to South Sudan to help flood victims mostly in Jonglei State.
