Dr. Machar meets MSF President, Dr. Christos Christou

July 13, 2021 — South Sudan’s First Vice President, Dr. Riek Machar Teny, has today met Dr. Christos Christou, the International President of Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF).

According to the office of the First Vice President, Machar and Christos discussed the MSF operations in response to medical needs in the country.

“Tuesday, July 13th, 2021 – The First Vice President of the Republic of South Sudan, His Excellency Dr. Riek Machar Teny-Dhurgon met this morning in his office with Dr. Christos Christou, the International President of Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF).” FVP Press Unit stated.

“The meeting discussed the MSF operations in response to medical needs in South Sudan.” They added.

In his remarks to the media after the meeting, Dr. Christou said the delegation has briefed the First Vice President on the MSF activities, concerns and future plans.

Christou said they also discussed the issue of violence against Humanitarian Aid Workers.

The MSF International President underlined their commitment to support and deliver heath-care services to needy persons all over South Sudan.
