Kuel Aguer Kuel’s family are demanding unconditional release for him to be rushed to Khartoum where they believe would be better for further treatment than Juba.

In a statement seen by Nyamilepedia, his family says Aguer was admitted at the Promise Hospital in Juba over the weekend while guarded by members of the national security forces from the Criminal Investigations Department.

Adhel Kuel Aguer appealed for bail so that her father can be taken out of the country for further medical attention.

“Yes, he was released to us on Saturday around midday. He is currently at Promise Hospital but the level of diabetes and hypertension is very high in his body, he is also vomiting nonstop,”

“We are begging the authorities to allow our relatives to bail him so that we can take him somewhere because the doctor recommended that he must be taken for further treatment. The doctors have tried their best, but they didn’t control the situation until now he is not able to walk.”, Adhel quoted by Radio Tamazuj to have said.

Adhel promised that if her father is freed to seek further treatment outside the country, he will return back to answer his charges.

“We are doing our best to refer him to Khartoum and that he comes back to continue with his case normally. We are expecting today the public prosecutor to approve the bail so that the father will be referred to Khartoum on Friday if the government agrees,” she added.

Hon. Aguer was arrested in July shortly after signing the declaration of People’s Coalition for Civil Action (PCCA) as a representative of the South Sudan intellectuals group.

The PCCA is an umbrella group of civil society and political activists who claim that the R-ARCSS has collapsed and as such the President Kiir and First Vice Machar should exit from power so that people of South Sudan can realize a new political dispensation in the country.
