April 29th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – A top South Sudan armed opposition official said on Monday that the government is desperate to make sure that it evaded justice and accountability.

This came a day after a document emerged making public a deal between South Sudan government and a United States lobby firm.

The deal entrust the US firm to lobby for US action in blocking the establishment of hybrid court in South Sudan as well as better ties with the Trump Administration.

Speaking to the Associated Press on Monday, the deputy chairperson of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement in Opposition (SPLM-IO), Henry Odwar, said the deal worth $3.7 million shows how desperate is the government of South Sudan in trying to evade justice.

“It (the deal) only shows the desperation the government is in, trying to evade accountability and justice … misplaced priorities,” Odwar said
