July 10, 2021 — At least 18 members of yet to be graduated South Sudan Unified Forces are confirmed dead and 10 others survived with injuries following a fatal road accident.
According to local media report, a group of the unified forces, ran into an accident on Juba-Bor Highway yesterday were scores died and many others rushed to hospital.
“At least 18 trainees of the unified forces have lost their lives and over 10 others injured along the Juba – Bor Highway yesterday in fatal car accident” the report stated.
The wounded trainees were rushed to Giada Military Hospital.
The officers, who involved in an accident were traveling back to Agut-Makur training center in Mangala from Juba after they came to take part in the 10th Independence Anniversary yesterday.
“The officers who came from Agut-makur training centre in Mangalla were traveling back in a truck after participating in the 10th Independence Anniversary Celebrations and The South Sudan Great Run at Dr. John Garang Mausoleum”, it added.
The survivors blame the accident on negligence of the driver.
“The accident is blamed on the driver who is reported to have been making a “zero” which led to the casualties”, it inserted.
