The General arrived in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on July 24th, after he was accused of coordinating bribes between the two warring factions of SPLA in attempt to create division in the rebel movement.
“The enemy of peace and disunity of our people level a false allegation that I have a link between the regime in Juba under the bad omen of the regime President Salva Kiir Mayardit and that I have received sum amount of money from Gen. Malong Awan which is not true” Brig. Gen. Gatwech said.
The General bitterly dismissed the accusations as “propaganda and wishful thinking” and warns suspects of such speculations to be very careful.
“I’m warning those who are spoiling my name within the movement to be very careful. Those allegations are wishful thinking meant to divide us” he said.
Gen. Gatwech further explain that he voluntarily joined the people movement fully aware that the regime in Juba has committed genocides, which are against the principles that he and many others fought for in the past liberation.
“When I came out from SPLA [IG] it was on my own willing to joint the people movement not as a spoiler to the Nuer. I left the genocidal regime fully convinced that it is no longer what I fought for during the liberation struggle” he continued.
Commitment to Fight for Democratic Reforms, Federalism, Justice and Accountability.
