According to one government official, the attack took place at around 9.00 am and the attackers are believed to have come from Terekeka county.

“This is to inform you that three people have been killed this morning by gunmen who came from Terekeka county,” the government official told a local tabloid on condition of anonymity.

The attack left five others wounded whose condition is worsening as they were not taken to the hospital immediately.

“There are five more who have been wounded and have been brought to Juba, but their situation is worsening because they weren’t rushed following the incident,” he added.

Although no arrests have been made so far, the Coordinator for the Community Empowerment for Progress in Terekeka County, CEPO, Moses Putie has also called on the communities of Yanguara and Korbura to cease hostilities.

He also urged the state government of Central Equatoria to intervene.

Since the beginning of the year, the state of security in Juba has been worsening with several people having been killed.

Earlier this week, the son of former Central Equatoria state governor Clement Wani Konga was killed near the area
