June 07, 2018(Nyamilepedia) ——- The Unity State community Association in Kenya would like to give its sincere condolences on the untimely passing of longtime freedom Fighter comrade Koang Dang Yut respectably known as Mashondit.

On 4th June, 2018 he succumbed to death at Karen Hospital, Nairobi after short illness. As at now, the Unity state community in Kenya was and still engulf in serious situation of sorrow following the news of his sudden demise.

We have lost a forerunner in all aspects. He has always been ardent agent of change all his life. Comrade Koang was career soldier who have never wavered in the course of freedom and justice in South Sudan.

He joined the SPLA during the liberation struggle at his tender years. He was one of the ‘Red army’ commonly known ‘Jesh Amer’ who fought for the independence of our country South Sudan. He has contributed immensely for us to be where we are today. And we unreservedly salute him in his deep slumber for his heroic sacrifices for our country.

Comrade Koang Dang Yut hails from Dok community. He was born in Leer county, Unity state. We therefore write to mourn his loss together with his family, relatives, comrades, supporters and South Sudanese general public.

Once again, death has robbed us of brilliant Brother and Father with a distinguish humor. It has always been our wish and prayer to live, work with and for Mashondit but he is gone now, and we wish him to rest peacefully.

Those of us who had lived and interacted with him would tell that comrade Koang Dang was humble person who had no specific age mates or class in our society. He often mingles with young and old alike. He did not distinguish people on the basis of age or gender.

If you found him with kids and Boys they could chat and laugh together. He hardly passes by without waving or saying hey especially if he knows you before.

He had really inclined African values of respect and humility. We all have nice memories of him, and he would never be forgotten. We will always remember him for his funny story-telling and for his ever jovial demeanor.

Best regard
