Feb 10, 2016(Nyamilepedia) —– Forces belong to the Government of South Sudan have last night attacked the cantonment sites of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement in Opposition in what is viewed as a strategized war campaign against the country’s armed resistant, Nyamilepedia has been informed.

The Official Spokesperson of the SPLM/A=IO in Western Equatoria state commander Baya Kayidri, in a brief statement extended to Nyamilepedia newsroom, said their position was attacked by Government’s forces that killed civilians and children, and admittedly said SPLA-IO captain was also killed during the armed engagement.

“The SPLA/Juba forces attacked SPLA-IO Cantonment site in Meke in Maridi Country in Western Equatoria last night and killed a children under the age of 8 and one captain,” reported Baya Kayidri.

“The heartless soldiers of Juba illegitimate regime then entered the surrounding villages in and around Meke and set them on fire and looted their properties from cooking utensils to beddings.”

The Government forces have increased their ground attack on SPLM-IO in Upper Nile State and Western Equatoria State recently; the latest attack was on Monday where the Government launched an attack on the SPLM-IO in Deba/Thrombaat near Wadakona, Manyo County in Northern Upper Nile. The Tiger Faction New Forces (TFNF) under overall command of Gen. Yoanes Okej later put out a rebuttal statement saying TFNF fought the Government’s forces in Deba/Thrombaat controlled by them, not SPLM-IO that fought the attackers.

“We strongly condemned this unethical behaviors and aggression against the civilians and demand that the institution of the implementation of the signed agreement (JMEC, UN & IGAD) investigate the incident as soon as possible,” Baya furiosly stated.
