Egyptian spy chief, health minister pay surprise visit to Kiir

August 12, 2020 (Nyamilepedia) – The director of the Egyptian General Intelligence Service (GIS) General Abbas Kamel, and health minister Hala Zayed, have paid a surprise visit to South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir Mayardit.

The Presidency did not mention the visit by the intelligence chief but only acknowledged, in a statement, the visit by the minister of health which according to the statement led the delegation.

Photographs obtained exclusively by Nyamilepedia shows Kamel sitting next to President Kiir and followed by health minister Hala Zayed.

“President Salva Kiir met with a delegation from the Arab Republic of Egypt, led by the Minister of Health, Hala Zayed, shortly after opening the Egyptian Clinic in Juba,” the statement partly reads.

“During the meeting, President Salva Kiir welcomed the support from the Egyptian Government to South Sudan and renewed his commitment with the Egyptian Government to continue working together in all aspects.

“Speaking to the media after the meeting, the Minister of Health, Elizabeth Achuei said that, she is happy with the work done and facilities installed at the Egyptian Clinic in Juba, by the Egyptian Government,

“On her part, the Egyptian Health Minister, Hala Zayed said, they brought medical supplies to support the South Sudan health sector, Hala Zayed also added that she discussed with the Minister of Health, Elizabeth Achuei, opening of Egyptian clinics across South Sudan.

“The Egyptian Ambassador to South Sudan, Dr. Mohamed M. Kadah stated that, opening of Egyptian clinic in Juba is a testimony of the strength of the bilateral relations between South Sudan and the Arab Republic of Egypt.”
