May 2, 2020 (Nyamilepedia) – I’m a bit trepidatious about the behaviors of South Sudan law enforcement agencies on how they execute the so call COVID -19 curfew orders or stay home. No any laws or city ordinances will be 100% observed by the locals. There’ll always be violators to these laws and ordinances given the human nature and the violators should be treated with dignity not be brutalized.
Law enforcement needs to know that, humans are sociable things who like to communicate and being restricted in order to curb the spread of COVID -19 will drive people to the point of insanity.
What the law enforcement inflicted on prophet Abraham Chol, given the disturbing images we’ve seen on social media and other media outlets is pretty much folly from South Sudan police. Did the prophet and his followers break any law? Absolutely Yes! But the way that police carried the order was unprofessional and must be condemn in possible strongest terms by the nation of South Sudan and the world.
How dare could a prophet of God be stripped naked in a broad day light in front of his family and his congregation? It’s not a joke or a laughing matter. It’s a reproach to the nation if we’re believers.
Psalm 33:12 reads “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage!” the opposite of “Blessed” is “Cursed’ let’s not be a nation according to the book of Deuteronomy 32:28 “For they are a nation void of counsel, and there is no understanding in them. Are we that nation because of few unethical soldiers who carried the shame?
Nada! We’re better than that. In the United States and in some parts of the world, there’re pastors and churches who defied COVID-19 laws. The law endowment treated them with respect even if some of them were jailed/ fined and set free.
My appeal to the authority in South Sudan is “FREE” prophet Abraham Chol and an apology to prophet’s family and the affected congregation for the brutal and inhuman methods of dealing with their violation of COVID-19 laws. South Sudan is the nation that “Glorifies the Lord” as alluded in its national anthem. Let us not make God regret why he gave us that nation.
Jeremiah 5:29 “Shall I not punish them for these things? Declares the Lord, and shall I not avenge myself on a nation such as this?” we as a nation, we need to repent so that God will spare us from vengeance. 1 John 1:9 “if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
Finally, may his name endure forever, his fame continues as long as the sun! May South Sudanese be blessed in Him. Blessings!
