May 21st 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan’s national dialogue steering committee has said the conference for the Upper Nile region is under way in the capital Juba.

This,  the committee said, is because it was difficult for it to conduct the conference in the Upper Nile region because it didn’t find a suitable place for it.

The chairman of the sub-committee of Upper Nile, Simon Kun Puoch, said the body had tried its best but could not succeed.

“The national dialogue steering committee had tried its best to convene the conference in Malakal and any other venue in upper Nile region, but we were completely defeated by the situation in the region,” he said.

“All the towns, the facilities were assessed but we failed to find a suitable venue for the conference to be held in the region,” he added.
