Rebel group urges uprising against Kiir’s ‘tribal’ regime
December 17th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – A South Sudan armed opposition group has called on the people of South Sudan to take up arms and fight the regime of President Salva Kiir Mayardiit which it accused of killing ethnic Nuer civilians in December 2013.
In a statement issued on Saturday to mark the fifth commemoration of the 2013 Juba Massacre, the Chairman and commander in chief of the People’s Democratic Movement (PDM) Dr. Hakim Dario said his movement has observe with sad memories the December 2013 killing of ethnic Nuer civilians.
“PDM observes, with the deepest sadness, the December 15th 2013 atrocities of President Salva Kiir’s tribal regime against innocent Nuer civilians in Juba, triggering atrocious five years civil war,” Dario said in the statement extended to the Nyamilepedia.
The statement further urged the people of South Sudan’s three greater regions to take up arms and fight the regime of President Salva Kiir so as to clean the country from his dictatorship and tyranny.
“On this 5th anniversary of Kiir’s crimes against our nascent state, PDM calls upon our people in Upper Nile, Equatoria, and Bahr al-Ghazal to lead freedom action for NADAFA of their country from tyranny, and from corruption, impunity and the rule of tribal elites,” Dario said in the statement.
The NADAFA stands for National Alliance for Democracy And Freedom Action (NADAFA).
“Make NADAFA of Upper Nile, NADAFA of Equatoria, and NADAFA of Bahr al Ghazal, from dirt and impunity, work for the country as a whole to put the people first,” Dario added in the statement.
