July 27th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan’s most-poorly paid MPs in the region have started earning a $40,000-each donation by the president last week, sources have said this afternoon.

It is the first time for South Sudanese MPs to receive such amount since September 011 when the President made similar pledge and loaned the MPs about $20,000 loan which they refunded for a long period of time.

Chairperson of Parliamentarian caucus, Hon. Joyce, told the Eye Radio this afternoon that the MPs started receiving the loan since Tuesday stressing that the MPs have been using public transports to take to work.

“We have not boost ourselves like real MP’s as you can see here MP’s uses public transport together with citizens,” she told the Eye Radio.

She said the current MPs salaries of 9 thousands do not cover all the expense for the people’s representatives in the country compared to other countries where the people’s representative are the most cared of and well paid.

“In some countries, MP’s are the most organized and equipped people because they are the representatives of people but due to the situation in South Sudan, we the MP’s have lower ourselves together with our citizens.

Another MP revealed that 5 MPs are now rendered disables by their use of Juba’s mostly used Boda-boda.

“We have some MP’s with disabilities and these were caused by accidents through the use of boda-bodas as means of transport and this was due to lack of cars,” she said.
