Sept 21, 2016(Nyamilepedia) —— Briefing the United States Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs on Sept 20th in Washington DC, Kate Ambquist Knopf, the Director of Africa Center For Strategic Studies and U.S. Department of Defense, warns that US attempts to support Kiir’s regime to isolate his Former First Vice President can only make things worst.

Honorable Kate strongly believes that US supports for Kiir’s faction can only bolster tribal dominant and tries to build a tribal regime that would favor only one tribe out of 64 tribes.

In order to inject power, authority and legitimacy into South Sudan politics and South Sudanese institutions, Kate calls for a diverse leadership and viable framework.

“Under these conditions, ending the war in South Sudan will require not merely balancing or dispersing power but a viable framework to inject power, authority, and legitimacy into South Sudanese politics and South Sudanese institutions over the long term.” Kate said.

To Kate, both Kiir and Machar are not part of the solution but the drivers of conflict, however, the expert acknowledges that South Sudan would not move an inch forwards if either Machar or Kiir is isolated.

“The second myth is that Kiir and Machar are part of the solution to South Sudan’s war. They are not. They are in fact key drivers of the conflict. Kiir and Machar have sat together in government twice and have disastrously failed their country on both occasions. The reports of the AU Commission of Inquiry and several UN bodies have provided ample evidence of their complicity in war crimes and crimes against humanity. “ Kate continued.

“They and their inner circles, including the chief of general staff, Paul Malong, are irredeemably compromised among broad segments of the population and are innately divisive rather than unifying. Peace and stability in South Sudan will only come if and when Kiir, Machar, and those closest to them are excluded from the political life and governance of the country.” Kate said

“Let me underscore, however, that neither Kiir nor Machar can be excluded while the other remains.” Kate remarks

Kate accused the United States of trying to help Kiir isolate his opponents but believes that Kiir would only pursue an increasingly militant policy of Dinka domination.

“The United States’ tacit support for Kiir’s removal of Machar from the transitional government and effort to isolate Machar has unwittingly given Kiir a blank check to pursue an increasingly militant policy of Dinka domination. “ The experts said.

In addition, any unilateral supports for Mr. Kiir from the US and other western countries may only send negative signal to the rest of the tribes in South Sudan and may cause them to revolt against Salva Kiir’s regime.

“It has also signaled to all those who oppose Kiir—Nuer, Shilluk, and Equatorian alike—that there is no political pathway to end the war and that violent overthrow of Kiir’s regime, which they already view as responsible for ethnic cleansing, is their only means of self-preservation. This policy has accelerated rather than defused the centrifugal forces that are tearing at the social fabric of the country. “ the experts continued.

“Kiir displays no concern for the repeated threats of sanction that are never realized; he and his government are clearly pursuing an ethno-nationalist agenda. It is not subtle, and they have not been deterred.” She continued.

The definition of madness is to try murdering Machar and isolating him time and times again and the results are never any better than the last. Cowards are going to great lengths mainly for fear of Machar. They should all grow a pair each and have a civil discourse and have some respect for Machar, a giant of an opponent. I don’t even think those calling for isolation of Machar have a clue as to what the consequence or implications of such move would entails. They simply don’t want to know. They have a better chance with a Machar who is committed to peace than a Machar that is a pro-war.

Everyone knows that Taban is a part of JCE. All changes part of peace agreement now forgotten.
What is there for Kiir to implement now? nothing
The other team, that is the rest of the country now building up for a decisive strike. All 63 tribes and also many good Dinka who see the terror caused by Kiir.
All knowing the Kiir only cares about Kiir and no thought for people
