July 9, 2016(Nyamilpedia) —– South Sudan’s rival forces resumed heavy fighting again this morning at the SPLA-IO headquarters in Jebel.

According to the Press Secretary of South Sudan’s First Vice President, James Gatdet Dak, their forces were attacked by Salva Kiir’s forces at Jebel base.

“Our forces have been attacked at Jebel base minutes ago. Sporadic shooting is going on now. We hope it will not escalate. Updates will follow” James Gatdet said.Gatdet confirmed that

Gatdet confirmed that the attackers are repulsed but the SPLA-IO forces did not pursue them.

“The force which attacked our base at Jebel this morning has been defeated and chased back. Our forces have stopped and not followed them. Our partner is not able to control its forces.” Gatdet said.

Although what triggered the fighting is yet to be determined, military sources alleged that the SPLA soldiers loyal to president Salva Kiir were angered by a large number of casualties they incurred on Friday.

According to medical sources from Juba Teaching hospital, SPLA-IO incurred a total of 45 deaths and Salva Kiir’s SPLA lost 110 lives on Friday.

South Sudan’s presidency has tried to call for calm in the last two days, however, tension continued to build up.

The Opposition forces of Dr. Riek should know that Kiir’s Faction are divided over peace implementation with Kiir being indecisive to take the necessary decision to remove the hard liners because Kiir himself is afraid of them. Dr. Riek should not risk his life and that of his soldiers. He must come out clearly and inform the IC and IGAD that peace has broken down. Perhaps the only solution to salvage the country is to place it under UN mandate.

i do not believe that there will more will fore peace implementation from the government side, because those clicks who are on the government they don’t believe in peaceful coexistence with any party, unless if its a Dinka group like the JCE which use to advice them. we need to think double to come out with what to do.

Both parties have not adhered to the terms of peace and the failed coopde’ta will this time work. There are those promised positions coordinating good military take over of power by the opposition, they are working day and night for regime change forgetting the lives of those lost in the process

It was the opposition forces who started the fight by killing 5 government forces on Wednesday. Secondly it the same opposition forces who attacked an area around presidential palance where the leaders were having a meeting to discuss the the killing of the 5 government soldiers and any other security issues in the country.

There isn’t time to figure out who started the attacks but time to brainstorm for solution for our selves/country. Calling names is a bad thing but figuring out solution is the best thing for a young learned colleagues to do.
I suggest the both parties should command their forces on cease fire ASAP.

The question here is are Jaang ready to be rebels and refugees in chad, Uganda, and their former slave master, the North Sudan. Apparently not and neither are they ready for a peaceful coexistence with other South Sudanese. In this case fighting some sense into their heads is rather a discretionary option. Diplomacy can wait along with peace.
