South Sudan’s Students in Kenya Prepares for Election

June 18, 2015 (Nyamilepedia) — South Sudan’s Students Association signed off an independent electoral commission that consist of seven members on the 17th of June, 2015 at South Sudan’s embassy in Nairobi, Kenya. The meeting was witnessed by H. E Ambassador Mariano Deng and the Education Attaché Madam Elizabeth Adicho.

The Seven commissioners chaired by Aliandro Lotok are due to convene a general assembly meeting in week time to brief students on any information they may need regarding the all electoral process. Henceforth, anyone wishing to attend such meetings will get an invitation via the aforesaid electoral institution.

I want to assure the members that the commissioners have finally been accorded and afforded the much needed facilitation to enable them conduct quick, free, fairer and transparent plebiscite within the stipulated time frame. I wish therefore to encourage all progressive comrades to participate in this democratic contest” Narrated Mr. Dak Buoth, the Association General Secretary.

The South Sudan students Association in Kenya (SSSAK) is nonprofit making and none political organization registered under the SOCIETIES ACT (CAP.108) (SOC/52463) law of Kenya. It was founded in 2006 by patriotic Students who envisioned the importance of South Sudanese students coming together to foster unity among themselves. It provides them with plat form through which they can share their academic successes and challenges that they encounter in their journey.

Membership is open to, but not limited to South Sudanese Students who have registered in any recognized University and College in Kenya and who pay the membership fee of KSHS 200 as stipulated for under Article 12 (3)(4) of the SSSAK constitution 2010 or any other amount deem affordable by the students’ council.  As such, any peace loving student who wishes to be a member of SSSAK can register on his or her own volition pursuant to the aforesaid constitutional provision.
