July 15, 2014(Nyamilepedia) — The SPLM/SPLA’s Office of Information and Public Relation informs the people of South Sudan and their sympathizers that the armed opposition is currently building a website and a smart phone app that are yet to be launched.
“The SPLM/SPLA Office of Information and Public Relations would like to inform the people of the Republic of South Sudan, the region and the world that we are currently working on a website and smart phone app for the SPLM/SPLA. ” The report reads.
The chairperson, Capt. Mabior Garang de Mabior, states that the public should, in the mean time, ignore any possible outlets that may claim to officially publish or broadcast on behave of the opposition.
“The public is advised to ignore any website that claims to officially speak on behalf of the SPLM/SPLA. The Movement shall inform the general public through its official communications when the official site is ready for public viewing.” Capt. Mabior reiterated.
Mabior believes that some individuals posses websites and social media accounts that seek to tarnish the name of SPLM/SPLA and its legitimate cause.
“There are some individuals and groups attempting to discredit the SPLM/SPLA by seting up fictitious social media accounts and websites” the statement reads.
The opposition has identified some domains, and cautions the readers to be mindful that the opposition does not own these URLs or their content.
“In light of this possible deception, the SPLM/SPLA would like to inform the public that the website at the URL below is not an official website of the SPLM/SPLA: http://www.splminopposition.org/news.html” the report continues.
Following the December 15 incident, the SPLM/A in opposition, has had very little influence on the national media, especially the national television, SSTV and other outlets owned within the country.
