December 14th, 2021 — In reference to the above subject Lou-Nuer Triple Alliance that comprises of Akobo, Uror and Nyirol, respectively, would like to condemn Bor County youth’s politically motivated demonstrations.
On December13, 2021, a group of armed youth allegedly from Bor County, took to the streets under the banner of Jonglei workers trade Union, chanting “DENAY MUST GO” in a concocted and cover-up political protest against Jonglei State’s government. Bor County Youth demanded “nature of work allowances”.Â
Even worst, a group of armed youths from Bor County forcefully attempted to vandalize government institutions and the ministry of Finance was the prime target. The governor ordered the military personnel to peacefully persuade the youth. They retreated back to Jonglei State main Hospital and stationed at Malek round-about.
 Marol-Main Hospital road leading to Jonglei State general secretariat and Airstrip road all the way to Marol Maket were barricaded. SPLM secretariat down to the Governor, Deputy Governor and minister’s residents were no-go zones by care or Boda-Boda. Government and NGOs operations were unwillingly halted for a couple of hours.
Lou Nuer Triple Alliance would like to make it crystal clear that we are firmly rallying behind the leadership of Governor Denay Jock Chagor and below is our position in response to Bor County youth demonstration:
CONDEMN Â the Bor County Youth for using Jonglei workers trade Union as a tool to settle their political scores with the State Government.
CALL on Jonglei Youth from 9 Counties to continue supporting the leadership of Hon. Denay Jock Chagor for he is representing the inspirations of people of Jonglei State.
INFORM the public that there is no unified trade Union in place.
NOTE that Jonglei workers trade Union composed of representatives drawn from 9 Counties could never be represented by a handful of youth from Bor County alone.Â
CALL up the Jonglei state government to immediately dissolve the defunct Jonglei State workers trade Union and reconstitute a unified body for which 9 Counties will be equally represented.
 ADVISES Bor County Youth to form their trade Union and desist from using Jonglei workers trade Union for selfish political gains.
CONDEMN unpopular calling for a relief of Governor Chagor after all matters pertaining financial transactions is a jurisdiction of the Ministry of Finance.
WORRIES that irresponsible behavior of Bor County Youth will directly impede implementation of RTGoNU, particularly in Jonglei State.
MINDFULÂ that unilateral decisions taken by Bor Youth on behalf of 9 County can not only lead to legal litigation but also dire repercussions.
ASSURE our full support to a peaceful settlement of disputes amongst Jonglei State’s communities as well as neighboring Counties.
APPRECIATE Governor Chagor for his democratic leadership style and more importantly for creating a space for Women and youth participation in Jonglei State political dispensations.
THANKS the Governor Chagor leadership for ensuring the freedom of press and individual rights are not infringe in Jonglei State.
We shall only realize a meaningful peace when each of us has the luxury of time to lead.
