VP Hussein Abdelbagi briefs President Kiir on his visit to Khartoum

Dec 1, 2020(Nyamilepedia) — South Sudan’s Vice President for Service Delivery Cluster, H.E. Hussein Abdelbagi, briefed President Salva Kiir on his recent visit to Khartoum, Sudan.

Speaking to the media after the media, VP Abdelbagi said he had been sent to Sudan by the president to represent him at the Sudanese peace celebration event that welcomed back the rebel leaders who fled to exile during the Al-Bashir regime.

According to a statement that was shared by the presidential press team, the Vice President for Service Delivery Cluster said that he helped mediate the misseriya and Dinka Malual communities and also opened roads network between Sudan and South Sudan

“H.E. Hussein Abdelbagi said while he was in Khartoum, he briefed the members of Sudan’s Sovereign Council on the Peace Agreement that he mediated between the communities of misseriya and Dinka Malual to peacefully coexist with one another,” read the statement.

“H.E. Hussein Abdelbagi also said he held discussions with the members of Sudan’s Sovereign Council and agreed to re-open the borders for the interest of trade and investment as the country undertook upgrading roads connecting the two Countries to ease the movement of people and goods.” Said President Kiir’s press team.

He further said that he held an extensive discussion with Sudanese Sovereign Council to resolve the issues of border disputes between South Sudan and Sudan

The Vice President for Service Delivery Cluster H.E. Hussein Abdelbagiin added that he discussed with H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit opened up the Abyei file to determine the Status of Abyei.

South Sudan brokered the peace deal that saw Sudan’s government sign an agreement with some of the rebel movements in Juba on October 3, 2020.
