This came less than 24 hours after Vice President Taban made favorable remarks declaring that president Salva Kiir will win the election that are expected to take place after the end of the Transitional Period.

In a statement seen by Nyamilepedia, Deng briefed Kiir on the ongoing construction of Juba-Bor Road – Juba Torit-Nadapal road, upgrading of Juba-Nimule Road and Juba-Yei-Kaya road which would commence soon.

According to the Presidential press, the meeting between two leaders was attended by the minister of Presidential affairs Dr. Barnaba Marial Benjamin.

Taban Deng Gai has been isolated politically for more than a year following the formation of the R-TGONU that was formed in March of 12th 2021.

During the recently reconstituted Transitional National Legislative Assembly none of his Parliamentary nominees were appointed to Parliament.

Last year during the swearing-in of Nhial Deng Nhial former minister of presidential affairs Deng said the SPLM needed to pay good attention to NIF agents whom he described as a source of trouble in the country.
