August 18, 2015 (Nyamilepedia) – The United States has welcomed the signing of the South Sudan peace agreement by parties on the 17th August and called on President Salva Kiir to immediately sign the agreement within 15 days he requested or face tough global sanctions.

“We call on the government to sign the agreement within the 15-day period it requested for consultations.” John Kirby, State Department Spokesperson said

The US government says it regrets Kiir’s failure to sign the agreed compromise peace agreement and would immediately start international measure to “raise the cost of intransigence” on all those who refused to sign peace, however, it has give Mr. Kiir’s government 15 days it asked to consult and sign the peace agreement.

“The United States deeply regrets that the government of South Sudan chose not to sign an agreement that was supported by all of the states in the IGAD plus the troika – the United States, United Kingdom and Norway, China, the African Union and the United Nations today,” said US State Department spo0kesperson John Kirby.

South Sudan’s president failed to put his signature on a compromise agreement that was reached by all parties in, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia promising to sign the agreement within 15 days.

The agreed document was, however, signed by the head of main warring party SPLM-in-Opposition, Dr. Riek Machar, and SPLM Secretary General Pagan Amum who represents SPLM former detainees.

According to mediators, Salva Kiir had asked at the last minute for more time of 15 days to consult with his constituency in the capital, Juba, after which he would sign the document within 15 days.

The agreement gives President Salva Kiir a lion share in power arrangement with 53% in central government, 46% in three Upper Nile States and 85% in all the rest of South Sudan States, with Kiir heading the executive and remaining commander in chief of the army in Juba.

The President, however, only initialed the agreement document showing a sign of commitment to the peace agreement reached with IGAD-PLUS mediators.

The State Department spokesperson John Kirby warned that a high cost will be paid by those who reject peace.

“As the president has stated, if there was no agreement signed today, we consider – we would consider ways to raise the cost for intransigence,” Kirby said.

Agumut,

There are those dumb-heads who sometimes have ears on their backs and not on their heads. They do not listen, understand and reason. Only when they are hard hit on their backs do they learn. Sadam Hussein Gadaffi, Husni Mubarak were once told to change their attitudes to their people, they refused, and now you know the rest. Even Djotodia with his Seleka rebels in Central Africa Republic had to be forced to give up power and quit the Country for his sturborness. We pray that Kiir remains adamant and sturborn, till he gets that final beating from the US, Troika and IGAD in 14 days. He has spoilt his legacy.

Nyankiir Mayardit, the Ugandan’s first lady, has been instructed by her husband Museveni to strike and sign the proposal peace agreement asp, Ha ha ha ha Nyankiir Museveni will soon leave Juba for Uganda as International forces are preparing to be deployed in Juba, after 14 days, Nyankiir’s time frame. Whether president Nyankiir Mayardit want to sign the peace agreement or not. My question is that, where will the so-called Padang Jieng of Upper Nile go? according to the peace agreement signed in Addis Ababa, the governor of Upper Nile and Unity State will be appointed by the rebel, that mean Jokino Fadel is the governor Upper Nile and Johnson Olony is the sector Commander for 18 months. Ha things gonna looks different, Ha I don’t want to witness what gonna be.
